1. Zero-tolerance standard
Wovo does not allow child sexual abuse or exploitation (CSAE), child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sexual solicitation of a minor, sextortion involving a minor, trafficking, or content that normalizes or facilitates those harms. Attempted violations are treated as violations.
2. Adults-only access
Wovo is for people 18 and older. Date-of-birth confirmation is performed through a server-controlled flow, and the database prevents a client from granting itself age-confirmed or administrative status. Accounts reasonably believed to belong to minors may be suspended while we assess and act on the concern.
3. Detection and prevention
- User-generated text and supported images pass through automated moderation before authoritative publication.
- When automated moderation is unavailable, protected publishing fails closed instead of silently allowing content.
- Members can report and block from profiles and relevant user-generated content.
- Child-safety reports are a dedicated, highest-priority category.
- Demo accounts are labeled and cannot be mistaken for real available members.
General-purpose automated moderation is one layer, not conclusive CSAM detection. Wovo does not claim that OpenAI image moderation can independently identify every form of CSAM. Suspected CSAE requires trained human escalation, evidence handling, and any reporting required by law. Specialized hash-matching and child-safety tooling will be evaluated as the service grows.
4. How to report
In the app, open the relevant profile, post, message, comment, or event; tap the ••• menu; choose Report; then select “Child safety / involves a minor.” Outside the app, use the secure child-safety form. Do not send or re-upload suspected CSAM with your report—describe where it appeared so authorized reviewers can preserve it appropriately.
5. Our response
- Prioritize the report and restrict access when necessary to reduce immediate risk.
- Preserve relevant records securely and limit access to authorized reviewers.
- Remove confirmed violating content and permanently disable responsible accounts.
- Report apparent violations to NCMEC and/or law enforcement when required by applicable law.
- Cooperate with valid legal process and protect reporter confidentiality where possible.
6. Operational accountability
Automation cannot replace an accountable person. Before broad public availability, Wovo must maintain a named queue owner, documented escalation criteria, reviewer access controls, coverage expectations, and a process for urgent law-enforcement requests. The support queue created for beta centralizes these reports; staffing and specialized tooling scale with risk and usage.
7. Appeals and updates
People affected by an enforcement decision can submit an appeal unless doing so would compromise a safety investigation or legal obligation. We review this policy as the product, law, and recognized child-safety practices evolve.
